La Brea Season 2 Web Series Review
La Brea started with a wild and fascinating idea: a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles, pulling people into a mysterious world — 10,000 B.C. In Season 2, the story gets even bigger. The characters are now spread across different time periods — prehistoric times, 1988, and even a futuristic timeline in 2076. This allows the show to explore multiple mysteries, dangerous creatures, secret organizations, and complicated family relationships all at once.
Characters & Performances
- Natalie Zea as Eve Harris: She continues to be the emotional heart of the story, trying to keep her family safe.
- Eoin Macken as Gavin Harris: His connection to the sinkholes gets deeper this season, adding more layers to his character.
- Zyra Gorecki (Izzy), Jack Martin (Josh), Jon Seda (Sam), and Veronica St. Clair (Riley) also get more screen time and development.
New characters like James Mallet (Jonno Roberts) and Kiera (Simone McAullay) add fresh mystery and tension.
Season 2 dives deeper into the science behind the sinkholes. We learn about the Lazarus Project — a time travel experiment from the year 2076 trying to save the future by extracting resources from the past. This adds a nice twist to the usual survival storyline.
However, not all the science makes perfect sense. Some parts feel rushed or a bit too convenient, but if you’re watching for fun rather than strict logic, it’s still very enjoyable.
There’s no shortage of danger — wild animals, rival tribes like the Exiles, and high-stakes missions keep the tension alive. The visual effects have improved slightly from Season 1 but are still not at the level of big-budget productions. The action sequences are fast-paced, though sometimes predictable.
