Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya Movie Review
Gopala Krishna (Ajay), a 40-year-old bank employee, married young to Bhavani (Indraja) and feels unfulfilled, having missed out on a youthful romance. To compensate, he flirts with younger women, including Samhitha (Sana Makbul), a 21-year-old aerobics instructor. Unbeknownst to him, his teenage son, Madhu (Naga Shourya), also falls for Samhitha, creating a complex love triangle. The story unfolds as the father and son navigate this delicate situation, impacting their family and relationships.
Ajay delivers a standout performance as Gopala Krishna, bringing depth to a flawed character reminiscent of Kevin Spacey’s role in American Beauty (the film’s loose inspiration). His portrayal balances charm, vulnerability, and moral conflict effectively. Naga Shourya, as Madhu, shows promise, particularly in emotional climax scenes, though he plays second fiddle to Ajay for much of the film.
Sana Makbul is adequate as Samhitha but lacks a substantial arc. Indraja’s role as Bhavani adds emotional weight, though her character feels underutilized. Brahmaji, as Krishna’s friend Sathyam, injects humor with his henpecked husband antics, while supporting actors like Ali disappoint with lackluster comedic bits.
